Naafiri, League of Legends' monster champion designed as a starter assassin, is receiving a controversial mid-scope update that significantly changes her playstyle. Since her release, she has struggled with low play and pick rates, prompting Riot to revamp her kit.

Key changes in the update include:

  • W ability becomes her ultimate (previously her packmate summon)
  • New ultimate allows her to latch onto enemies from range, similar to Nocturne
  • E ability now has shorter cooldown, longer range, and cursor-targeted functionality
  • Damage reduced against players but increased against jungle monsters
  • 20-second cooldown on packmate summon with brief invulnerability

The community response has been largely negative, with players citing several concerns:

  • Loss of mid-lane assassin identity
  • Similarity to Nocturne's ultimate ability
  • Reduced mobility options
  • Lack of promised skill expression
  • Visual downgrade of ultimate ability

The changes will be available for testing on PBE before final implementation. Mid-lane Naafiri players should enjoy the current version while it lasts, as the champion transitions to a jungle-focused role.
