The inaugural LTA (League of Legends Americas) Season finals concluded with Team Liquid's victory, but viewership numbers have raised significant concerns about the league's future sustainability.

The grand finals peaked at just 168,852 viewers, falling short of even the quarter-finals match between Cloud9 and LOUD, which reached 291,301 viewers. These figures represent a substantial decline from previous regional competitions.

Comparing Historical Numbers:

  • 2024 LCS Spring Split Final: 246,184 viewers
  • 2024 CBLOL Spring Final: 459,846 viewers
  • 2025 LTA Grand Final: 168,852 viewers

The LTA's regional splits also showed concerning numbers:

  • LTA North: 148,603 peak viewers
  • LTA South: 254,464 peak viewers

Cross-continental matchups performed better, with most quarter-final games reaching between 260,000-291,000 viewers, except for FlyQuest vs. Leviathan (218,034 viewers). This suggests that inter-regional competition draws more interest, though the current single-elimination format may be limiting potential viewership growth.

For perspective, the LCK (Korean league) maintains significantly higher numbers:

  • 2025 LCK Spring Final: 1,432,474 viewers
  • Overall split peak: 1,907,634 viewers

The community response has been largely negative, with fans and analysts, including prominent figure Caedrel, criticizing the new format and expressing concern about the league's long-term viability.

These numbers suggest that while there's still strong interest in competitive League of Legends, the LTA's current structure may need reassessment to better engage viewers and ensure the league's sustainability.
